The Bobbin Case

Designer and maker of unique handmade bags and accessories

I am a designer and maker of handmade bags and accessories including purses, keyrings, home decor and gifts. I work mainly with vintage wool and Tweed, in particular Harris Tweed but also enjoy using other quality cloth.

I design all my own items, and generally don't use commercial patterns unless otherwise stated. I never make the same design in the same fabric twice so you can be sure you are getting a unique one of a kind piece.

I also work to commission creating a bespoke item, tailored to your requirements, please get in touch if this interests you.

It is all about the cloth for me, that is what inspires me so i try to keep my designs simple and appropriate to the fabric used. I particularly love natural earthy fabric and colours.

I work from home in my studio down the garden and work around being a mum to two girls. I enjoy a good strong cuppa and listening to 6Music whilst I work!

I've always been creative. My gran taught me to use a sewing machine at a young age which inspired me to start making clothes and hats for myself, family members and friends. I later pursued my love of art at A level and foundation level then moving onto a degree in Textile Design. Work experience is mainly in Millinery and library work after a break to raise my two children I am now discovering the job that I really enjoy!

Buying from me

I design and make my own items, no commercial patterns are used unless otherwise stated.
I accept custom orders, so please get in touch if this is something that interests you.
I am a sole trader working from home in my own studio.
If an item is in stock I aim to get it posted to you within 2 working days. Custom orders take longer and this will be discussed with you as part of the order process.
Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns regarding an item/order.

Returns Policy

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.
