Hi, my name is Anne and I love being creative as a hobby and a way to escape the pressures of living and looking after a child with additional needs. Being creative gives me a release and a means of escape for a while into another world. I work from my little Vintage Tea Shed in the garden which doubles as my sanctuary and chill out zone where I can just be me for a while. I have built it up from a pigeon poo covered rafters find at my hubby's previous work place to the chintzy tea cup filled crafting space that it is now and I love it. I was even lucky enough to be selected for the budget category of Cuprinol's Shed of the Year last year (2019) in which I was voted category winner.
I keep all my crafting bit and pieces here and like nothing more than to sit here and, using items that I find on my travels .. teacups and saucers, little animal figures, buttons, beads and ribbons .. anything really and combine them with new to, create items such as pin cushions, bird feeders, decorative pieces. At the moment I am working on pin cushions.
The cactus pin cushion sewing pots are ideal pieces that, whilst being decorative, are functional too. Each one has a handmade cactus pin cushion with pins for the spines. There is a tape measure, cottons and needles too. They look great on a shelf at home when not in use.
The teacup pin cushions channel my passion for tea cups. I sell vintage china, amongst other things, at my The Regent Antiques and Vintage Emporium and I have always found that it is such a shame to throw away any cups and saucers that are not fully useable so I re purpose them. They can be far too pretty discard and I really dislike our throwaway society. I take objects such as animal figures and add them to my pin cushions along with bits and pieces of sewing related items to create something that is again fun yet functional. Each comes with cottons, needles, pins and a tape measure.
