Preserving flowers for lasting enjoyment.

Dried flowers have had a bad rap in the past, perhaps you’re reminded of the dusty arrangement on your Nana’s sideboard?
I’m happy to say this is no longer the case, preserved flowers are seeing a huge rise in popularity in recent years owing to improved preservation techniques and modern styling.

My love affair with dried flowers began as a floristry student and has grown with me throughout my career. I’ve now created dried florals for 1000+ weddings at home and abroad. I dry a high percentage of the flowers I use myself. Over the years I’ve experimented with lots of techniques and put into practice what I’ve learnt. I’m especially proud of my exquisite dried roses, every time a fresh batch is ready my heart skips a beat!

Why dried flowers?
There are so many reasons to say “Yes!” to dried flowers. They are long lasting and retain all of the charm of fresh blooms. They can be kept as keepsakes, lasting mementos of a special day.
Perhaps your travelling for your wedding? In this case, dried flowers are a fab choice, take them with you!
Fancy having flowers you can wear all day? no wilting, no water, no fuss. What’s not to love?

How long do dried flowers last?
Generally the lifespan of dried and preserved flowers is advertised as 3 years. This can however depend on the variety and use of the flowers. Each parcel I send arrives with a care sheet, this outlines how best to store and care for your flowers for maximum enjoyment.
For wearable flowers (hair accessories) I suggest using these within 8 months of delivery. Although they can be kept as a keepsake indefinitely.
Displayed flowers will naturally have a shorter lifespan than those stored as keepsakes, this owes to exposure to light, heat and possibly moisture.

What to expect for dried flowers?
Firstly, remember these are natural flowers, and should be handled carefully. Generally dried flowers are robust, but it’s natural for them to drop a petal or two or shed a few heads, just like fresh flowers. This isn’t anything to worry about and is to be expected when embracing natural products.
