All about Soap - Handmade Soap & Handmade Soap Dishes

Hi - I'm Julie from a small market town in Suffolk. I'm from a health professional background originally but decided to use my Batchelor of Science in other ways - to make Soap! I first did a cosmetic making course in Perth, Australia 17 years ago - making lip balm and hand cream to gift to friends. Then over the last year I have reignited my passion for making cosmetics, especially soap - as well as finding a new passion with pottery. I love the individuality of both crafts -each design is unique, I love where it can take my imagination - taking inspiration from my home county of Suffolk to influence my soap. I also love how each soap or dish is not conveyor belt made but is made with time, care and creativity - sometimes imperfectly perfect!
Coming from a professional background it is natural to continue with that in soap making. I have had my recipes and methods safety assessed by a certified Chemist to ensure they are safe, and high quality manufacturing methods are used. I buy high quality ingredients from a respected soap making supplier and each batch is documented. I am registered on the EU Cosmetics Portal and a member of the Guild of Craft Soap & Toiletry Makers. This means I work safely with high standards when making soap.
I try and work with thought to the environment. I use re-used packaging or recycleable kraft or cardboard where possible. My cold process soaps are made from scratch, use vegan ingredients and are palm oil free. My other gift soaps or wedding favours soap are made from a soap base of either goats milk or SLS free base.
