Hello! I am Maxime, a Southerner has made roots in the North East of England. In my shop you will find creations made with sea glass I've hand picked from the NE coastline.
What is sea glass I hear you ask? Treasure of the sea! Most of my glass is collected from Seaham on the North East English coast - a world-renowned spot for hunting sea glass, thanks to the old Bottle Works which closed in 1921. Glass tossed into the sea years over a hundred years ago has been tumbled by the waves, sand and rocks to make perfectly formed treasures of all shapes, sizes and colours.
I have become a little bit addicted to beach combing for sea glass over the years and decided to start making things with it - starting with vulvas and branching out to jewellery and other 'glart'.
15% of all profits are donated to my local Rape Crisis centre - Rape Crisis Tyneside & Northumberland - where I have been a volunteer for 8 years.
