Jewellery always fascinated me, the fact that it's always been part of human culture, our way of expressing ourselves and our belonging to a tribe, a land, our status in society. Jewellery can be so much more than a piece of pretty precious metal. We get married with rings, we put hair in mourning jewellery. I create timeless pieces, inspired by the rugged beauty of the ancient land around me. I run wedding ring making sessions with loved up couples. I teach regular classes. And I also create bereavement pieces incorporating the loved ones ashes or hair. Jewellery for me is craft, creativity, expression, connection to the old handiwork of the ones that came before to be passed down to the ones that come after.
