Hello my name is Sandy and I live in beautiful Rutland, the smallest county in England.
I make handmade jewellery from silver clay, which is tiny particles of silver reclaimed from industrial use, such as x-rays or photography, which are bound together with an organic binder and water. When fired in a kiln the binder burns off leaving 99.9% silver which is then polished and burnished to achieve a lovely finish.
I first went on a silver clay jewellery making course about 2 years ago whilst looking to find something to occupy myself after taking early retirement. I was absolutely hooked and have been making jewellery ever since, firstly just for myself, family and friends.
I make a variety of jewellery, mainly necklaces, pendants and earrings in different styles and finishes, sometimes incorporating gemstones. I occasionally also use fused glass which my husband makes.
I am always looking for new ideas and love the challenge of making something new, so if you have an idea for a piece you would like to commission please get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks for visiting my shop, I hope you find something you like.
