I started out studying etching where I learnt that drawing and sketching was crucial in the process of creating a print, I do all my sketches and paintings in different suburban environments which inspire my prints. I try and create dreamlike images or sequences from ordinary surroundings.
I'm currently making lino prints using the reduction method using 1 lino block which is cut away and printed adding a different colour at each stage, the final colour printed is usually black defining the print.
I love using colour in my prints and i'm inspired by patterns in the architecture and interiors around me, I often incorporate the human figure in my designs which adds a sense of scale to my work.
Artists who inspire me include Eduardo Paolozzi, Edward Bawden, Fernand Leger, David Hockney and Roy Lichtenstein and many more.
