Slipcast Digital Ceramics

I am from Shrewsbury near the welsh border, but I was born in Rochdale in Greater Manchester. I am inspired by the cartoons and animations of my youth, such as: Tansformers Beast Wars, nintendo 64 and courage the cowardly dog. Artistically I take inspiration from Eduardo Paolozzi and I like to use a lot of the ancient glazes from Japan and China.
I actually came up through Fine Art rather than craft and I did not start with ceramics until I started my Masters Degree in 2015. Ceramics has completely consumed me and I now can't think of doing anything else. I am currently doing an artist residency at Wrexham Glyndwr University and I have a part time job unrelated to art.
I make slipcast action figures. Recently they have started to become poseable with the aid of powerful magnets and I find this very exciting. to make all this possible I design my figures on my computer, 3D print them and then mould the parts with pottery plaster. Sometimes I also like to model the original form with clay, or I buy bootleg toys to mould and cast.
Besides Ceramics I am soon to be a dad of two and I have a lovely understanding wife! I try to run and cycle as much as possible and I am interested in fashion.
