Born in 2013, Pacific Calm Gifts works from our home studio in Weston-super-Mare in beautiful Somerset. Surrounded by lush countryside and lovely seascapes, we look no further than the natural world for our inspiration.
We are particularly awestruck by the magnificence of trees and leaves, and these are a recurring motif in our work. We also love the sea, both remembered from childhood holidays when the sun shone all the time and the sound of the shingle lulled you to sleep, and also from the beaches that we are lucky enough to see on a daily basis. We find that the fluid quality of fused glass is particularly suited to the creation of delicate seascapes.
Technique wise, we favour strong, vibrant glazes in our ceramic work and use a lot of illustration in our fused glass, creating unique hand-drawn pieces of work. It would be true to say that we LOVE what we do and we hope that you like it too! :)
