Unique, useful woodcraft - something for all.

I find it particularly pleasing, now that I have effectively retired (well semi retired) to get back to my first love of working with my hands and honing and converting those skills I have mastered over the last 50 years on metalwork, cabin interiors and composite materials on aircraft into the more appealing and satisfying hobby/work using wood, a lathe, hand tools and my own thoughts, imagination and designs.
Sorry, I have never been one to remember all the different types of wood and do not aim to use specific woods for my work but I do know what I like to look at, what feels good, and what gives a pleasing finish whether that is created from a branch fallen from a tree in the wind, wood I have saved from the scrap bin of a builder or that destined to go on the log fire.
Hopefully you will see the same beauty in wood that I see and try to maintain in my unique designs, which, by the way, come straight from the head to the hand. I gave up technical drawing when I left school.
The idea of using reclaimed wood or wood left to decompose in the forest appeals to my environmentally friendly attitude to life.
