Personalised Illustrations Made With Love - Nellie Bee

As someone who has always adored any avenue of creativity I have long been artistically inclined. I have never studied art, I have just always loved it and was always told that I should pursue it.. so here we are!
With 2 young children I don’t always get the time to myself that I used to (a lot of my work is done with a toddler attached to my leg or ferociously wobbling the table to get my attention) but this is my escape. It is the only thing I know I can do which allows my body to rest, my brain to switch off and my heart to sing.. all whilst being Mum too.

I live in a countryside village in the county of Hampshire, (having grown up between England, New Zealand and Australia) and I am very lucky to live in such a wondrous place. It gives me a lot of inspiration, there is always something new to admire and something which gets my imagination flowing!
This chapter of my illustration journey began a little over a year ago, when I posted a few of my drawings on my social media account and got an overwhelmingly supportive response. My style has changed as I have learnt new techniques, allowed myself to trust my skills and try new things. I am always excited to look at how far I have come.

My children are a huge drive to me to show them that no matter how old you are, no matter if you never went to University or pursued your talent before, that it doesn’t mean you can’t achieve great things. If you are trying you are already winning and it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but to someone just one illustration could make a difference.
