Hi, I am Maxine, the person behind MIXED UP MAX. Mum of 2 and a fibromyalgia warrior!

I have always been a creative type, with a degree in Art and Crafts from Coventry University. I get such a buzz from exploring artistic mediums and seeing what can be created with them. I am not one specific type of artist. I am a mix. Hence the name of my shop. It is a venture to showcase and sell my varied creations. A business that will fit in with family life and my health condition- which will not stop me creating!

MIXED UP MAX - is a place to find beautiful art work that explores the themes that run through my head as I go through life and while I create: layers and textures, history and beauty.

I love to look at the world around me and notice the details. I aim to express all of this in various concepts- from mixed media collage work on canvases, to watercolours. I also enjoy bead and wire work and after recently taking part in Inktober for the first time have found I also like working with pen and ink. I hope you enjoy looking at what I create and are excited by what you see, as much I am as I work on them.

I am inspired by nature, vintage ephemera, peeling paint or wallpaper. That strange mark left by a coffee cup (I like coffee!), the way people interact and the beauty of the natural world. I love how the smallest and simplest of things can inspire us if we let the beauty in.

Mixed Up Max is all about variety.
