Craft-loving Tutor Producing Educational Resources

Although an avid artist and maker for many years, I have recently decided to follow a new direction with my craft - one that incorporates my 'day job' of Learning Support Assistant and Personal Tutor. Having discovered that it is difficult to get hold of many common pieces of classroom equipment if you're not actually working within a school (and when you can find it, it is usually hideously expensive or entails purchasing equally expensive website subscriptions), I decided to start creating my own resources. As I have been tutoring now for over five years I have acquired a vast range of educational props and exercises which have been thoroughly tried and tested with my own pupils. It occurred to me that I should probably be sharing some of these with people in similar situations, especially with the recent rise in home schooling and demand for extra tuition. The items listed in my shop are not beautiful, artisan creations, but they all have handmade elements and are my own brainchildren. I have emphasised functionality over aesthetics, as I want to be able to make the items as affordable as possible.
This is only the beginning; I have ideas for many more products and would ultimately like to create a website dedicated to school supplies, so watch this space!
