I live in a world of colour, creating crochet for you.

My daughter calls me Mama Hen and so it was fitting to give my shop this name.

I have sysnasthesia, an overlapping of the senses, but it means I see colours in everything from numbers to the letters of the alphabet, names, days of the weeks - just about everything. I've had this as far back as I can remember and thought everone saw the world the way I do. I never say I "suffer" from it because for me it's a wondrous thing. Standing in a wool shop is both pleasure and torment - pleasure because I love the clours and textures, torment because I can't possibly buy it all!

My colourful corner in my home is my workplace; it has grown from a very small corner to almost the whole room. My stash is like the Magic Porridge Pot as no matter how much I use, it never seems to get any the less. I try to be disciplined and have only one or two projects on the go, but not easy when I come up with new ideas or colour combinations all the time.

I was a knitter for decades but stopped because of arthritic fingers. Never one to sit doing nothing I taught myself crochet and have become, literally, hooked.
