Granny and Nana... Maggie and Sylvi

Along with the ultimate women in my life (my mum, my sister and my auntie), these two greats are up there with them. Family is a huge and important aspect of my life, so for me to name my little business after the women in my life just seemed apt.

Granny was a nurse and she loved to sew. She's made all sorts and her making bridesmaid dresses has inspired me to make my wedding dress one day. Granny died in 2012 so it's a shame she never saw me behind a sewing machine. I have used her Singer though which connects me a little more to her.

Sadly my Nana died in February 2001 when I was only 5 so I don't remember much about her. There aren't many pictures either - it was a pure miracle I found this one! It's from my parents graduation in 1984 and it will always make me smile. My Dad told me of the time Nana used to work in a haberdashery shop. Sewing is just in the blood it seems!

I've previously worked as a wardrobe assistant and a dresser in wardrobe departments of theatres. I found my love of sewing at university and I feel very lucky to have worked in theatre for a couple of years. During the pandemic I turned to creating and selling accessories. But after my sister gave birth in the latter half of 2020, I decided to rebrand completely and create baby and children's clothing!

You will find a range of items for babies and children including rompers, bloomers and dresses. Everything is made using 100% cotton and there are lots of fabric choices from gingham to plain... and not forgetting my love of florals! I am constantly planning new items to launch to keep the shop looking fresh. Don't forget that if you see something you like but it's not available in the right size, then please message or email as I also offer a made to order service.
