Kite flying is a great way to lose yourself in the moment and connect with sky and wind!

I started making kites using bamboo over 30 years ago during a wet and windy holiday and I have found that bamboo is the perfect material for kites as it is strong, flexible and sustainable. The first kites flew in China thousands of years ago and today there are a vast array of designs from around the world - most of my kite designs are inspired from the Asian Pacific region.

I initially used paper for the kite sails but found it too fragile for the UK climate, I now use a material which can be worked and painted exactly like paper, but it is also waterproof and extremely durable.

Kite flying is one of those simple activities that connects you directly to the wind, the sky and the outdoors, so give yourself an extra excuse to go to the local park or beach.
