Whilst social distancing measures are in place, I will have a limited selection of products listed in the shop compared to usual. This will allow me to post the majority of item using Royal Mail Click and Drop at my nearest post box. For the odd larger item/order I can access the post office but will only do so once a week whilst visiting the shop. Please be aware that items may take longer than normal to arrive.

Handmade gifts and home decor - lovingly made just for you.

I have always been a keen crafter but I created my first decorated wooden letter back in 2015. I’d just had my first daughter, Emma, and wanted to create a letter for her nursery. I was so pleased with it that I began making more as gifts and people showed an interest to order them.

One item that I make is personalised letters that are painted in your choice of colour and ribbon with your chosen name or message stamped onto it. There are a selection of these that are already made and ready to dispatch, an ideal gift to send to someone to show that you care.

In addition, I also offer other types of home decor such as painted rainbows, hot air balloons and teepees etc. These look perfect in a nursery, playroom or bedroom and make great gifts. At various times of the year, I offer seasonal items so keep a watch of what new products are available.

I take pride in what I create and only make products that I like and would be happy to receive. When painting, I apply two or three coats to ensure a nice rich and even coverage. Depending upon the style of the letter or shape being created, the edges are sometimes sanded to achieve a distressed look. All letters are coated in a layer of varnish to protect and seal them.

When packaging up my creations, I take just ask much care. I use crisp white tissue paper and brown kraft cardboard boxes which are stamped with the Katie's Cottage Crafts logo. As well as looking attractive, it is also important to me to have as little impact on the environment as possible which is why my packaging is made from recycled materials and can also be recycled again or reused.
