About Joyscapes by Jane

Joyscapes by Jane

Glass art and illustrations inspired by the my adventures on my bike.

I am an illustrator and glass artist based in the Pennine town of Hebden Bridge. I am a keen cyclist, who loves exploring the local countryside and towns on my bike this gives me my inspiration.
I have worked with glass since 2009 and have developed my own unique style creating sculptural pieces of work including my Pennine houses and rainbow collection.
Delighted by the announcement that the Tour de France was coming to Yorkshire in 2014 I began to explore ways of representing this momentous event in my glass work. This led to the development of my quirky illustrations of cyclists racing on the Tour de France route and my ‘cyclist on the hill’ sculptures. . Since then I have developed a popular, unique, recognisable style with over 15,000 items featuring my designs sold through galleries, museums and shops as well as directly to the public. My work has been featured on BBC’s Country File. It proves popular with cyclists and their families but also with tourists and local and anyone who has a connection to the areas I draw.

Over the last few years I have extended my cyclist collection to include the annual Tour de Yorkshire route, parts of the Tour of Britain and the Peak District)

I take delight in seeing people’s faces light up with pleasure and recognition when they view my work. I aim to create original quality items that will bring joy to the receiver.

I also run courses from my home studio. See www.abundantglass.co.uk for details or contact me jane@abundantglass.co.uk
