I have always been drawn to the mystical and ethereal. I create work to evoke hope in myself and others, to uplift and escape from the every day...
One of my earliest memories is of colouring in the alphabet letters in my first week of primary school and feeling completely contented!
I have never grown out of escaping to my 'colouring in', day dreaming and reading fairytales.
I received my first set of water colour paints at aged eight and fell in love with the fluidity and instinctual nature of the medium. I can never quite predict the way the pigment will behave and I think this has kept me striving to master it all these years, I still feel I have so much to learn.
I studied for my Ba(Hons) Illustration Degree at University College Falmouth, graduating in 2007.
Since then I have worked on book illustrations, art licensing and wedding stationery.
Clients include: Papyrus Greetings, Seller Publishing, Milkwood Publishing, American Greetings, Lovelane ltd, Paperlink and Miles Kelly Publishing.
I love to explore my own more conceptual and personal ideas with sketching and watercolour artwork inspired by narratives, music and nature.
I have forever been enchanted by Cornwall and I am so thankful to have grown up in such a magical place.
I create and pack all my artwork and prints from here on the South coast in a beautiful bay.
