Dear kindred spirits,
I started sewing at an early age when my Gran, Ivy bought me my first sewing machine. I've been sewing ever since!
I have a passion for history and nature so I like to create things that conjure feelings and emotions and that have an essence of nostalgia. Living in Cornwall I am surrounded by things to inspire me. The rugged Cornish coastline offers an endless feast for the imagination... I also love a bit of drama!!
The 'Ivy Bird and Me' vision is to evoke passion and dreams of living a nostalgic and free spirited way of life, to encourage individuality and self-expression.
All of my garments and items are lovingly handmade by me using natural and eco-friendly fabrics.
I love the rawness of linen, especially when left creased, and the feeling of 'the old days' it gives me.
It is very important to me that my business practices with as minimal negative impact to the environment as possible. I use sustainable fabrics of mostly linen and organic cotton and where ever possible, natural dyes.
As I am vegan you can feel confident in knowing that any profits made from purchases do not contribute towards any animal cruelty.
