I am a Sheffield based woodworker aiming to create elegant and modern pieces to show off the natural beauty of wood.

I am based in Sheffield and started dabbling in woodwork a few years ago, starting with some basic wood-carving and carving utensils. After making a few pieces for myself and friends I began to consider further developing my woodworking skills in joinery and other crafts.
I started woodturning after a chance find online of a used lathe by my step-father.
Catching the bug, I began to teach myself woodturning and have been improving my skills and upgrading my tools since, working from my garage.

I hope to create individual pieces that bring out the inherent beauty of the wood and strive for elegant, simple and unfussy forms that are both functional and beautiful.

I prefer to use native and more traditional woods, but I also enjoy the occasional use of often colourful and interesting exotic woods. I am careful to always use and buy sustainable woods and supplies for my work.

I try to use small and/or British suppliers whenever possible, including the wood itself and the hardware and sundries used in the creation of a piece. Even though I could buy cheaper supplies online from abroad, I hope to keep the chain of craftsmanship, skills and business, from beginning to end, as close to home as possible.

I hope to make quality pieces,both sympathetic to the wood and pleasant to own and use.
