Hello and welcome to my little Folksy shop. My silversmithing journey started several years ago in Leicester. Once a week on my day off I'd get the train to Leicester for class, and it quickly became the highlight of my week. When the class ended, I bought all the tools and I've been making jewellery ever since. I also love to make art from items nobody wants or needs anymore so my little shop will often feature these creations.
In the warmer months I make things in my tiny shed next to the river, which I share with a little wren called Walter. Walter kicks me out of my shed when he's building his yearly nest, and so my husband built me a desk from recycled wood inside the house. That's where I work at until Walter lets me have my shed back! Good old bossy little Walter.
I adore our planet, and so everything I make tends to be recycled or repurposed, and I love anything to do with the sea or nature, so lots of my jewellery follows these themes. One of my favourite things to do with silver is to melt it! I then cast the molten silver into salt or water, as it makes the most amazing and unique shapes, that often mirror the shapes in nature. They're Walter's favourite pieces too!
