Getting down to the nitty gritty of watercolour! At a watercolour demo in Crickhowell, Wales

I am a 52 year old freelance artist. I am from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales and am lucky to work full time painting and teaching adults watercolour.

I haven't always done that though, I used to work in leisure in France and in Education in Spain and the UK and in heritage in Wales. All the while though I wanted to paint full time but never seemed to get there. Then suddenly in 2008 I was diagnosed with a very rare ear tumor.

12 hours of neurosurgery saved my life but I was very debilitated for 4 years. During that time I used art as my therapy and found by chance Etsy.com. Since then I have been self-employed as an artist.
