I was born in Richmond upon Thames, Greater London, England and am the youngest of four children. I am predominantly a self-taught artist whose drawing skill developed very early on. I would use anything I could lay my hands on to draw with and always received art materials and sketch books as gifts for my birthday or at Christmas (never tire of these as gifts although I am a little pickier now)
After school, I studied art and design at college which gave me a wonderful opportunity to learn printmaking, fine art and design. I also have experience in etching, stained glass, illustration and portraiture.
I live with my partner and have two lovely grown-up children, who are both branching out into the creative industries.
In late 2016, I decided to leave full-time employed work as a fundraising & marketing manager to take an opportunity to pursue a business doing what I really love; ART! I now work from home.
I like to create sketches on the spot or quick alla prima paitnings of still life or figures in their surroundings. I enjoy en plein air painting. Recent works are ‘urban’ scenes in acrylics, oil or ink and detailed still life nature studies in watercolours. I exhibit regularly with a local art circle, have an open studio each year.
