Busy covering everything I can find in leather...

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always enjoyed making. This started off alongside my Grandad in his workshop - He would make furniture for the house whilst I made miniature versions for my Sylvanian families...

After studying, I thought an engineering career would enable me to continue making things but after a few years found I'd stopped getting my hands dirty. So I handed in my notice, moved into a yurt and took a 10 month apprenticeship in all things woodland at The Cherry Wood Project near Bath. Here I got to learn from a host of lovely teachers and, when we weren’t sharpening tools, spent time practising a range of sustainable crafts including green woodwork, basketry and leatherwork.

Now I’m trying to figure out how to get my own bit of woodland but in the meantime I’m here, back up North, in my living room/workshop, making functional things that sometimes look alright too. I use recycled or well sourced materials wherever possible and use no power tools. I like it better that way.
