About Easterkins

Easterkins

Sustainable and Ethical Handmade Kids Clothing That Doesn’t Cost The Earth!

Hi, my name is Emma, and I am the founder of Easterkins.
For those of you who may be wondering where the name Easterkins came from, well, Easter is my surname and ‘kins’ stands for family.
Family is important to me and as I started setting up Easterkins by making bespoke outfits for loved ones, it seemed only fitting that a word meaning family be a part of my company name.

What started out as a hobby, making baby and kids clothes for family, friends and loved ones became a business venture for more reasons than just the obvious; that they liked my designs and outfits.
I founded Easterkins because not only did people seem to love the outfits that I was making but also so that I could be at the helm of a business that I could run, with my ideals and ethics at the centre of its core values.

I am a lover of Planet Earth and this is reflected in both my professional and personal life. My car is a Hybrid, my studio is powered by Solar energy and I try to ensure that Easterkins is run as sustainably as possible, after all, we all need to do our bit.
I am a firm believer in ethical fashion, which basically means that Planet Earth shouldn’t have to pay for my designs, so all packaging is plastic free and eco-friendly.

When you buy my designs, you can be safe in the knowledge that they are part of the ‘green initiative’, so they are made with sustainability in mind. Other than the ethical side of things, I truly enjoy what I do! Making custom-made outfits for your little ones, while using beautifully coloured fabrics, creating outfits that are fun and playful is a really enjoyable way of making a living. Speaking of making a living, I have factored the real living wage into my pricing, this enables me to plan for the future. Meaning that if I need to take on staff I can afford to do so knowing they will be paid a fair wage for the work they do.

All my items are made with care and attention to detail so your little mischief makers can play, learn and explore the world to their heart’s content in funky, bespoke items that are made from fabrics made especially for sensitive skin; leaving your mind at ease, so you can worry about the other things that your little whirlwinds get up to.

Although 2020 was a difficult year, I was extremely humbled and very grateful to receive some wonderful accolades and great publicity.

Most recently, I was featured alongside some amazing female entrepreneurs in The WalesOnline 35 Under 35: The top young business and professional women in Wales 2020 - https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/walesonline-35-under-35-top-19351411

Wales Online and in August 2020 I was named one of the winners of ‘Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday’ on Twitter.

I was also privileged to be shortlisted for Welsh ICE’s ‘Startup of the Year’ award. Being nominated was an honour and although I didn’t win, I enjoyed every moment.

If you have any questions about my designs or if you want to find out more, I am happy to help and here to answer any queries that you may have, so please get in touch and to find out more about what I’ve been up to, take a look at my blog (https://easterkins.co.uk/blogs/easterkins-blogs).

Thank you, Emma x
