Artist, Author and Crafter

Hi, my name is Sandra and I have been lucky enough to have been born and raised into a family where artistic skills were encouraged.
From a very young age I was naturally able to pick up painting, sewing and knitting without much instruction. I have spent the rest of my life honing my skill at these and many more crafts.

My farm and country art and crafts are born from having been raised on farms where I was able to explore the countryside and allow my imagination to roam free.
Living in East Anglian there is plenty of countryside to traverse, with interesting images to transform into acrylic, line and wash, and watercolour artwork.

It is also this life that inspired me to create my children's books about the animals that live on Applegate Farm. Having written the stories, as an artist, I then have to illustrate them. This gives me much pleasure as I sketch and re-sketch until I have my perfect form for each animal.

All the craft are made from playing with ideas. Some work, and some don't.
