At Debra Susan Design I make unique hand woven jewellery in elegant and fun colours and designs. Most pieces are one of a kind and all are designed by me. Whether you are attending a wedding, party, or love to add your unique personality to your everyday outfits you will find something here which speaks to you. Wearing that favourite piece can elevate your mood, boost your self confidence, and who doesn't love adding a bit of glamour to their everyday!

I have always been crafty and when I found seed beads around a decade ago I fell in love with the possibilities these tiny glass beads opened up. I learned various stitches and techniques and soon found my own style of beadwork. I am inspired by the materials themselves or everyday things around me and ideas can spring from a particular gemstone or a couple of complimentary colours and grow organically and intuitively into a finished piece of wearable art. Crystals and gemstones form a large part of my designs and many materials used are one-off. You can find short videos of many finished pieces on my instagram page to allow you to see the sparkle and more angles.
I work from my spare room, which is now my craft room, at home in Scotland. My husband and cat keeping me company. My other passion is my dollhouse and I make little perfume bottles and beaded handbags in 12th scale for display.

Sizing:
All finished pieces are sized keeping in mind the style of the jewellery and the overall look. I am happy to resize where possible to suit your individual requirements. Note this will delay the dispatch date to allow time for adjustments and I will confirm a likely timescale with you.
Some pieces listed are unfinished and will be finished to your size requirements prior to shipping. This is noted in the description where applicable.
To measure your neck or wrist you can use a piece of string, mark it at your desired length and measure it, or use a flexible tape measure. To check how a particular size will look on you and whether it will fit either mark a piece of string at the length and put it around your neck or wrist or use a flexible tape measure. Where a piece fits smaller than the measured length due to the type of weave this will be noted in the description.

Shipping and packaging:
Your jewellery is packaged in a box or pouch for storage and/or gifting. Your order will be securely packaged in a cardboard box to protect it during shipping.
I use tracked and/or signed postal services as many pieces are one-of-a-kind and cannot be replaced. I aim to dispatch your order the working day following receipt of payment.
UK orders are sent Royal Mail 2nd class Tracked service. International orders are sent Tracked and Signed. If you require your order sooner please contact me to discuss expedited options.

Care for your jewellery:
Your beaded jewellery should be cleaned with a soft dry lint free cloth. Do not spray any perfumes onto your jewellery and ensure any lotions, hand sanitizer and other products are dry before putting on your jewellery as these products can affect finishes and threads. Do not wear your jewellery in the bath or shower or swimming. Store your jewellery in its original box or pouch and avoid using hanging storage for beadwoven pieces as this can stretch threads over time. If a tarnish strip is included you may wish to change this every 6 months to ensure any plated or precious metal parts are protected.
