Fun with fabric, felt, buttons and beads (and anything else crafty I find!)

Hi, I'm Helen, a Mum of one gorgeous girl who inspires and challenges me in equal measures! I was made redundant before she was a year old. Scary but it turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. It allowed me to pursue my passion for yoga (I teach 10 classes a week), be there for my baby girl and spend more time indulging my love of all things crafty.

And so, Dansana Yoga & Crafts was born.

My craft tastes are best described as eclectic! I love playing with beads, buttons, fabric and anything else I can get my hands on. I enjoy upcycling and repurposing things such as obsolete computer parts, which I've made into earrings, brooches and keyrings and old clothes, which have become brooches, hairbands and yoga mat bags.

Many things I make start with an idea of something for my daughter and then develop into stock items. My first felt flower hairband was made to match a party outfit. It was such a big hit with Alannah and her friends, that I got several orders from the Mums at the party!

I'm self taught in my jewellery making but my Mum taught me how to sew. We've always been a crafty family and I was encouraged to make presents and cards rather than buy them. Many things I've made began that way too.
