I have always enjoyed crafting and have tried my hand at most things. I'm lucky enough to have my own craft workshop at home and although its never pristine and tidy, I do know where everything is plus they say 'a messy room is the sign of a creative mind' - that's my excuse anyway :-)
Both my husband Barry and I create. You will often find his original wax art pictures in the shop. He uses coloured beeswax wax blocks which are melted onto the base of an iron (similar to a travel iron), then transferred onto special coated paper. He then manipulates the wax with the edge of the iron and other tools to create the grasses, trees, birds etc. - I've tried, all I get is a mess lol.
Although I can knit, I much prefer crocheting as it grows so quickly, but it eats the wool, so you use up a lot or so it seems. I've recently made three large sofa throws for home (we only have one sofa tho, but sshhh I don't think hubby has realised yet, so I might even start another one - family heirlooms I call them).
I also love working with fabric and 'playing' with my embroidery machine nicknamed Miss Hissy, as she often throws a hissy fit and tests my patience to the limit!!
