Seamstress creating unique handcrafted items from a tiny home!

My names Amy and I'm a seamstress and everything behind 'Crafted by Candlelight'. My Nan taught me the basics of sewing when I was around 7/8. My gift for Christmas from her was a Singer sewing machine that wasn't electrical to make it easier for me. I loved creating things and most of the time I made bags as I found them easy. Years went by and I sort of forgot about my passion for sewing. Then university started and I was the typical poor student. Birthdays and Christmas were coming up and since I didn't have much money for gifts, I decided to start making them. For two weeks I hand stitched my sister a bag made from 15 ties I'd purchased from charity shops. I loved it. I ended up purchasing my first ever electrical sewing machine. When university finished I really wanted to open up my own business selling handmade items, but things always seemed to get in the way. Then one day, it just happened and 'Crafted by Candlelight' came to life. It took me awhile to get the courage to join Etsy with my items, but now I'm here I wish I'd done it sooner.
I've never really been able to follow patterns, but I think the benefit to that is that I come up with my own designs and that means a lot of unique items and sometimes a bit of trial and error. I put all the love and care into my items and when someone purchases one from me, it really makes my day. I've loved the feedback I have received and it's really encouraged me to continue on, especially through the hard times in the business. Know that if you buy one of my items, that not only are you helping me put food on the table, but you're all supporting and helping me continue on my dream and I can never thank you enough for that.

At Crafted by Candlelight we believe in being an individual with your own unique style, that's why the majority of our items are one offs with unique designs so you can stand out from the crowd. A lot of time and effort goes into designing and making your items, so you are sure to find an item to suit your personality and style.

Returns Policy

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.

You have 14 days after receipt of purchase to return if you are unhappy with the product. Buyer pays return postage.
If there is a fault with your item, please contact Crafted by Candlelight, depending on time with item (not exceeding 2 months) a refund, partial refund or exchange may be given, depending on the fault and time item has been with you.
We will not exchange or allow return of items that have suffered general wear and tear through use or damage that has clearly been made by the buyer.
All items involving fabric (handbags, cushion covers, etc) should be dry cleaned. Do NOT use a dryer to dry items. Items damaged due negligence while cleaning will not be accepted for return. Crafted by Candlelight holds no responsibility for items damaged in this way.
If the item is bespoke or personalized, the sale is final and no returns or exchanges will be accepted.
Do not give any items to children under 5 years old. Every effort is made to ensure that your product reaches you in its safe, proper condition. However, due to the fact that pins are used to make a lot of the products along with buttons etc, these products are not safe for children. If you decide to give any of the items to a child it is your responsibility to ensure the product and child are safe, Crafted by Candlelight will not be responsible for any accidents or injury caused by failure to adhere to the above.
We are not responsible for any additional charges that incur through posting outside the UK.
