I've always loved 'smellies' and would stock up on lotions, bubble baths and hair products at Boots as retail therapy on any bad day, it was a real pick me up!
I delved into making skincare with a bath bomb kit many years ago - it didn't go well! Imagine all the ingredients activating by the liquids I was putting in, still in the mixing bowl, nowhere near a bath! Hey ho!! It was fun, at least! Next I tried candles and soap and had better luck - usable items, that I had made! JOY!
I progressed onto the more refined ways of making soap and discovered the magic of using herbs and essential oils, learnt about the orangutans in the rainforest and the concept became one of saving the planet as well as making lovely, artisan, beneficial skincare for everyone!
I generate ideas out of everything - something on the telly, a colour, a mood. I then just build up the design in my head. I have more designs playing around than I can make, and sometimes think I dream about soap too! I currently work out of our home kitchen, garage and spare room, but I'm hoping to get a shed/workshop in the garden for the warmer weather. I work in organised chaos, but there is at least a little organisation, I would love to get it more so. :)
