Fun and quirky functional ceramics

Hard to think I ended back in a place where I started. When I was a little girl I would make mud pies in the garden you see me in in the picture, my family home. I moved to Manchester in the late 80's to study ceramics and completed my City and Guilds I stayed in Manchester and worked as a community teacher teaching MLD school children in a college setting (I fell into that - or should I say slightly nudged by my college tutor ) loved the teaching aspect so I did a little more.
Found myself then moving into Social Work, loved Manchester, had my lovely daughter and found myself full time in the social care field of full time employment and ceramics a bit of a distant memory, I used it along the way in small amounts .
Back to today, now we are here back in Cheshire in the same home I grew up in making Clay pies! Instead of mud and equally as excited as I was when I was a little girl. I love working with clay and thankfully I have the surroundings to do what I love to do best, I still work part time with special needs adults in Manchester as I equally love that too.
I love working outside and at any opportunity I will throw outside in my garden, my smoke firing and Raku firings are done outside in my garden too. I just love playing and creating the feeling it gives me is my therapy and we all need that, a place where we can just be !
I have quite a creative mind so I never stick to one style, I love working in porcelain, but then I will shift to working in Raku, but then I love to decorate my earthenware with hand sketched illustrations. You will see in my listings that I just love clay.
