Hi, I’m Klára - the mind, hands, and heart behind Caraway Beads Jewellery.
I’m a self-taught jewellery maker and a hobby photographer. I was born in magical Prague, but I currently live in Scotland, where I create my jewellery in a small studio in our garden, surrounded by beautiful hills and dramatic weather.
I’m passionate about Czech glass beads and endlessly proud of the talented Czech manufacturers who continue to supply the world with such colourful treasures.
Every piece of my jewellery is unique. I use only high-quality materials such as hypoallergenic niobium, Argentium silver, stainless steel, bronze, and copper - weaving them with beloved Czech and Japanese glass beads, semi-precious stones, and other materials. Each wire link, clasp, and ear hook is created individually, lightly hammered for strength and texture, and carefully filed for comfort and safety. (Please note that I’m currently not taking commissions.)
I find inspiration for my jewellery and photography in the wilder corners of our garden and everywhere in nature. I can (and often do!) spend hours immersed in the challenge of capturing the beauty around me - translating it into glass and metal, or freezing it in photographs.
