Designer made flame work bead and fused glass jewellery

I gained my degree in Art & Design at Anglia Ruskin as a mature student where I fell in love with glass. I then undertook post graduate study at The International Glass Centre in the West Midlands. I love to design jewellery using beads I have made and to incorporate wire work elements. Until recently I taught jewellery making and stained and kiln-formed glass at Adult Community Learning centres around the Essex/Suffolk border.
When I am not making beads I like to make textured glass in the kiln and then use traditional leading techniques to make contemporary stained glass panels to commission. I sometimes have smaller panels and mirrors available. I also use the kiln to make fused and slumped glass items like vessels and coasters. All this leads to a very busy and messy home studio which sometimes invades the house!
Much of my work is derived from investigating the fragile environmental boundaries which sustain life and the changing landscapes that can be found in coastal areas close to where I live.
