Hello there and welcome to my online shop run by me, Hesta aka Mrs Bodkin, an artist and horticulturalist celebrating the seasons in Devon. My creativity comes from my parents and my love of nature, which I hope you can feel woven through all my work – from my felted birds nests, to my embroidered allotment skirts and small floral paintings.
I am dyslexic and when I was at school it wasn't really recognised. I was left at the back with the nature table and a tin of paints. I left school and went on to study horticulture for many happy years, still always making, sewing and painting alongside. Now I make, paint, stitch and create with flowers from my small garden ,home in Devon, which I share with Mr Bodkin, two teenagers we adopted as babies many years ago, some mice and a very naughty rescue dog called mr Piglet. If I’m not working at home, you will find me at the allotment, painting or taking photographs.
