Creating things makes me happy and in starting up Aglimmer there is plenty of types of creating going on; designing, enamelling, wood-turning...although the technical bit not so much. As a child, creativity was my thing and, as a adult, I'm glad to say I never grew out of it. I've tried my hand in various disciplines, attending art college for illustration and evening classes in pottery and silversmithing. I tried short courses in screen-printing and etching.
It was in lockdown that I came up with the ideas for my pendants with much trial and a lot more error (probably accompanied with cursing echoing from the back room of my then house). Now I operate from a small cottage in Wales where I live with my scruffy mutt, Pip, and have ironed out the wrinkles in my techniques. My designs are always inspired by nature and my surroundings give me plenty to keep me fueled.
