I was inspired to begin silk ribbon embroidery after I came across a beautiful book detailing examples of this kind of work from the 1920's and 30's. The colours and texture of the ribbons and their ability to be manipulated illustrated that far from being a style that was outmoded it offered a new way of creating beautiful textile treasures.

Full description
A sachet made from purple green shot silk and embroidered with a silk ribbon floral motif in a mixture of cream, mauve and green. The sachet is lightly stuffed with polyester wadding infused with a spicy floral scent. The sachet has a hanging loop so that it can be hung from a hook or coathanger.
It measures approximately 11cm square
