Working as a happy jewellery maker, I use traditional metalsmithing skills mixing silver, copper, minerals and Murano and Artisan glass to create forms and textures inspired by nature and narratives.
This jewellery is for individuals, every piece created with passion & integrity.
I came to jewellery making whilst working as a horticultural designer. Unhappy with the sacrifice of quality and design to volume, I needed to find an unrestricted channel for my creativity. Making the jewellery allowed me not only this indulgence, but also to experience the deep satisfaction of working with hot metal. I worked to gain a degree in jewellery – metalsmithng and now work full time running my small jewellery workshop, carrying out repairs and restringing pearls.
These pieces are more than ‘pretty ornament’. Each has significance to the owner and is interwoven with stories known to the wearer, hidden to the viewer. It’s jewellery, it’s pretty but it carries tenacity, endurance and strength.
