Meet the maker Jaye Wood

My name is Jaye Wood and, in addition to being a classical pianist and singer, I used to be a bead snob, only creating the finest quality jewellery with the finest quality Swarovski and semi-precious components. My jewellery was covetable and sparkled, loved by many and... then the credit crunch happened and we were all in the same boat or worse as some of us were tossed from the steady income lifeboats into the icy seas of financial uncertainty, me with a new and first bundle of joy on the way, kicking as I type!

Suddenly Swarovski and silver were out of the budget and cute kitsch and infintely more loveable fimo beads were most definitely in. It took a while to deal with the transition - always the little Swarovski devil on my shoulder would pipe up "Well what are you going to do with that? You won't create a high end masterpiece!" and I'd pause and gaze longingly at expensive components.
Many times I walked past the fimo beads, until one day I thought "I wonder if.." and a whole new world of fun and imagination opened...
Once I got home the endless possibilities became apparent and, like a kid with a new box of Crayola crayons, I set to work sorting all the kitsch little shapes which have the potential to brighten up the most difficult days. I simply love making up all of the new combinations of tutti frutti, sugar n spice and flower power, whilst putting the same care and attention into their creation.
I believe that less costly components can still look amazing if manufactured using the same exacting standard of perfectionism and color-matching that I use in my more expensive jewelry. Whatever you buy from any of my Crystalfish outlets, you can be assured that your item will be lovingly handcrafted to exacting standards. The only difference will be of course, the cost...
Thanks for looking. I hope you'll let a kitsch creation wend it's way to your home and brighten up your day...
