About Me

Hello, I’m Sam, a Scottish artist and illustrator creating colourful, characterful artwork inspired by the little wonders of the natural world.

My work is all about slowing down and looking closely. I’m fascinated by insects, plants, wildflowers and the landscapes around me, particularly the Scottish countryside. I love noticing the tiny trails, textures, colours and creatures that can so easily go unseen, then bringing those observations onto canvas through bold colour, intricate details and playful compositions.

I'm particularly fond of acrylic paints, pencil, ink, raw plant material, murals and photography.

I work from my home studio in Angus, Scotland, where I create original paintings, illustrations, prints and personalised artwork. I also love creating commissions. From pet portraits and custom illustrations to children's name paintings designed around their favourite animals, interests and adventures.

My artwork is a celebration of curiosity, colour and the wonderfully strange things that surround us.
