Nature photography with a twist

I am Christie Woodcock the Photographic Artist behind the Northumberland based company White Oak. I aim to explore people’s relationships with the rural landscape and play with the science of natural history alongside the romance of folklore. 

Much of my work fuses traditional, slow photography with modern digital methods, producing work which is both representational and expressively tactile. Generally my images (framed and mounted photographs, cyanotypes, anthotypes and mixed media pieces) feature treasured native plants and animals, with a few favourite Northumbrian landscapes too.

My golden oldie, 14 year old Wirehaired Pointer Lexi, keeps me company as I work. She is responsible for many of the images I took during her younger days while I walked endlessly trying to tire her out.
