Reusing upcycled fabrics and scraps and combining them with a lovely lining that sets off their colours - this is my inspiration. You will never find a plain lining in any of my bags, I think you should look inside and see something gorgeous while you are rummaging for that thing you want.. Found or leftover fabrics can be made in to something gorgeous. See the bag in the centre of my profile picture, it is wavy patchwork made from scraps of dress fabric, silk, linen, cotton and velvet. I also love to make unique bag charms and zip pulls. Each of my bags are a one off made to my own patterns. I live in north west UK near the coast. I am a semi retired grandmother to four and I love to make things for them too. I also have a double allotment plot where i grow vegetables and flowers for my family and keep six chickens: Magpie, Ruby, Sparkle, Speckle one, Speckle 2 and Lammy and a youtube channel (see the link) where you can even see me sewing on my hand crank machine there in good weather.
Yes I am definitely an English eccentric. The bags I have for sale are one off pieces I was inspired to make or they are samples and prototypes from when I designed my patterns. I love them all but I can't keep them all.
The fabrics I use are: leftover pieces from other projects such as quilts, dressmaking etc, found fabrics such as wool blankets, upcycled velvet curtains, purchased fabrics for linings - I choose UK based suppliers and designers - I love Lewis and Irene designs. I also have a small selection of vintage Laura Ashley fabric that I use very sparingly. I find bags of wool scraps on line and these are especially useful. I also sell a selection of wet bags, these are a bit more utilitarian but very useful. They are reusable waterproof bags that can be used for gym or swimming kit, laundry, baby things, etc
