Scandinavian artist living in Wales, creating illustrations inspired by camping and adventures

Hi!

My name is Sandra and I am a Swedish-speaking Finn currently living in Cardiff, Wales.

Although I originally trained in prop making and theatre design, however I have always had a passion for drawing and painting. I started Vandra Illustrations in April 2023 as a way of collecting travel memories through sketching and drawing.

My illustrations are mainly inspired by nature, hiking and camping, which I what brings me to most joy in life. Within my practice, I am influenced by both my Scandinavian roots as well as my current surroundings in Wales. I gain inspiration from camping trips or even just daily walks, and I hope to create artworks that evoke a sense of adventure and calm amongst viewers.
