One-of-a-kind items, ethically upcycled by hand

I've always loved crafting and my mum taught me to sew. I've had an office job, and run a small office business, and now I'm concentrating on my family - hubby and two extra special kids. Sewing keeps me busy (apart from the cycle of dishes and clothes to wash, and meals to prepare...), and I have discovered that my mum gave me a good grounding in various types of sewing.
I mostly do machine work for selling, though I also do visible mending for me and my family, which incorporates elements of darning and embroidery.
I do have a bit of a thing about bags (you always need the right bag!) and that's where I started this sewing journey.
I'm also a bit of a greenie, I hate waste, having been raised by people who remember the Depression and the War, and now seeing what the throwaway culture is doing to our planet. So, as far as possible, I recycle and upcycle in my making. This does mean that it can take a little longer to finish an item or project, but I believe its worth it for my kids' future. It also means that each item is in some way a one off and no two items are ever quite the same.
