About Suzi Thompson Printmaker

Suzi Thompson Printmaker

A fine art printmaker lover of nature and avid Yorkshire strength tea drinker.

I am a fine art printmaker and I use cardboard, paper, glue, grit and other bits and bobs to create my collagraph plates from which I print small limited editions usually of native wildlife but always with a characterful twist. I also love to draw and sketch and use this in printmaking on my drypoint prints where I simply draw my images onto the printing plate using a sharp steel needle point tool.

I live between Barnsley and Sheffield and am surrounded by beautiful, open Yorkshire countryside and farmland with big blue skies, and I love to go walking and exploring early in the mornings with my dogs for company. This backdrop of local farmland and wildlife provides me with endless inspiration for my work.

I also like to make notebooks and sketchbooks, hand printing the covers onto recycled card and paper and then either stitching them by hand using pamphlet stitch or case binding them over book blocks.
