Unique upcycled crochet creations

I'm Ali and I love to crochet! I learnt from my Mum when I was 7 years old, and have been crocheting ever since.

After retiring from my nursing career, I decided to pursue my two passions of crafting and music. I spend my time between singing and playing harp in a folk duo, running knit 'n' natter and singing for wellbeing community groups, and making crochet creations to sell online. When I'm not doing any of these things, I'm usually heading off on a camper van adventure with my husband.

We spend a lot of time upcycling for our home and our camper van, and I'm a huge fan of pre-loved clothes. I rarely buy new, preferring to search for hardly worn items at charity shops & a variety of online sites. I recently decided to shift my creative focus to crafting in a more sustainable way, by upcycling yarn from pre-loved items and unwanted yarn scraps.

Whilst the process is fairly labour intensive (from sourcing the original items, laundering, unpicking, making up balls of yarn, designing the end product based on materials I have available, and then creating it!), I love the satisfaction that comes from reducing waste and breathing new life into unwanted items, and then sending them out to their new homes.
