I design and make handmade, custom leather goods.

Having spent many years in the IT industry and software development, I was starting to feel dispirited at my lack of creative energy. This lead to an obsessive period of learning new creative skills, with a focus on handmade goods.

It didn't take very long for me to realise how much I enjoyed working with leather and hand crafting items that would last well beyond the lifetime of off-the-shelf products.

After a number of commissions from friends and family, I decided to put a name to my passion and so Stitches and Hides was born.

All items are designed and handmade by me, in my workspace in sunny Southbourne, on the south coast of the UK.

There are no sewing machines used in the stitching of my leather goods; all items are hand stitched using a traditional and strong saddle stitch.
