In 1996 I did a course in stained glass making and working with this medium has been a passion ever since. I initially started making stained glass lanterns and candle holders for friends and family. This has now developed into a small business that I run with my husband Bob from our home in Shropshire, where we have a small workshop and design and make all of our stained glass pieces.
We make stained glass tea-light and candle holders, a wide range of light catchers – for example cockerels, beach huts and angels – and stained glass Christmas tree ornaments.
We use the traditional lead and Tiffany copper foil methods of stained glass making. Each piece of glass is cut by hand and shaped using a grinder. The pieces of glass are soldered together with a fine raised bead solder, which is a feature of our work. The finished piece is then hand polished.
Our inspiration comes from the shapes, patterns and textures that are all around us and seeing how different colours of glass react to light.
